Add penalty stroke for putt inside circle not maintain stance

So I didn’t keep my stance for a putt in the circle which I made. I tried numerous ways to add the penalty stroke but either the hole wasn’t finished by adding it last, or the hole score was inaccurate when I tried to add it before the putt. How do I add this penalty stroke in UDisc?

Thanks for posting here @jonfeen! The best way to add this type of penalty would be to add the OB stroke before you hole out. In this case if you went fairway → circle 1 → OB (stance not maintained, select penalty/drop location → circle 1) → basket (select range).

It sounds like you’re trying to end with the OB stroke which is not actually when the penalty/OB stroke was given. Try it the next time you’re out playing and let me know if you have any other questions!

I tried it that way as follows:

On a par 3 hole in UDisc:

  1. I entered my first throw into circle two,
  2. I entered my second throw into circle one,
  3. I entered my third throw OB (for the stance penalty when the disc went into the basket),
  4. I selected penalty/drop location as circle one (there is no option to select basket!),
  5. I entered fifth throw in basket, and
  6. I selected 11-22 putt distance.

My UDisc score showed a 5, but the correct score was a 4 (3 strokes plus 1 penalty). I can’t find a way to enter the correct score in this situation where the first and second throws were inbounds.

I’m using the throw tracker for myself for the UDisc scorecard if that makes a difference.

Did you actually test this situation on UDisc? I just tried it again on a sample scorecard and it still shows a five.

Yes - I tested the same way you scored and have scored a situation in this way myself :slight_smile:

Based on what you described, it sounds like you scored it correctly. There isn’t a way to set a penalty stroke that lands in the basket. This isn’t the best way to achieve this, but you could mark the penalty stroke from your circle 2 stance.

Hey Jenn,

Any way you can put in for an app upgrade to fix this? This scoring situation is part of disc golf rules. It can and does happen (most famously to Ricky Wysocki). The purpose of the UDisc app is scoring the round. Seems like it’s not doing that in this case. I would think the managers/developers would want it fixed and probably don’t know about it. All they’d have to do is add a basket option to the OB screen.

I also like to keep stats on rounds using the app, and this makes them inaccurate.
