"Smart Mini"/"Smart Marker" Idea

Hello,

I use my phone as a marker when I play casually and it got me thinking that it sure would be cool if someone developed a “smart marker” or “smart mini”. I looked around the forum and didn’t see this concept pop up anywhere so I figured I’d start a new discussion.

Would it be possible to develop a mini disc that could have synchronization with the phone and/or it’s own ability to accurately mark the way I use my phone and others use their watch?

I imagine a mini disc with a very simple display and three buttons that would function much like a watch. It would be nice if this product was a cheaper alternative to a watch purchase, would allow users to keep their phone tucked away more, and certainly would be a cool piece of tech– especially if it was approved for official events and tournaments– to have in the bag.

What do you think? Silly? Too much R&D to make affordable? I’m interested in others thoughts, ideas, and opinions on this. I feel like it would sell like hot-cakes!

As you eluded to, could embed an old smartwatch into a mini. Sounds like a fun project, but also 1 more thing to remember to charge. Keep us updated with what you come up with!

I second this please let us know if you come up with.

would love to have a scorekeeping dongle that I could clip to my bag like a carabiner or use as a mini. I hate wearing watches and I don’t really wanna pull out my phone to keep score.
