Record throws on smart watch

Why can’t we record our throws via the app on a smart watch? I was pretty excited when i got the email the other day about “mapping your round”. Then, I read the email, and its basically a step counter and gps tracker. If i can see the distance to the pin from my current location, why is it so hard to record a throw?

Hey there, Tracking full stats on your watch isn’t something that we have on our current roadmap. However, we appreciate your suggestion and will take it into account when we next plan upcoming projects. Best, Team UDisc

Bumping this, as I would love for this to be added as a feature

I would also love this. The UI in the app is clunky and leads to extended play times.

Arccos, 18Birdies, and TheGrint would be awesome references for shot tracking.

I pretty much exclusively use my watch for tracking my game while I’m playing - pulling my phone out and tapping around to enter the data for throw tracking is a distraction that makes me to not want to use this feature that I’d otherwise find useful. I’m even more unlikely to use it if I’m playing with others or if there’s someone on the hole behind me.

I could see this being implemented as a two tap workflow on the watch where I tap once to confirm where a shot landed, and again to select if it landed OB. I wouldn’t care for selecting the disc on my watch - that’s something I can do after the game on my phone. I’d absolutely like to see throw tracking integrated into the smart watch apps

Hey Carter,

Thanks for your feedback. I totally agree it would be a nice addition for watch scoring. I will be sure to pass along the feedback. It isn’t currently on the near-term roadmap, but definitely could be an addition in the future.

@marky is there a road map you can share on the plans for smartwatch features? I just played my first round with a galaxy 7 watch/UDisc pro. Is there any map tracking/throw tracking that comes along with distance to the pin? Any overlay I could see over the disc course map view after and or during the round… Similar to to what strava live tracking shows and even my dogs Fi collar.

I would like to track my distance and location of each throw. It already asks for precise location and GPS tracking. Anyway I’m new to smartwatch but can really get on board with it for improving my game with that data… Would love to see some velocity /arm speed stats as well… Not sure galaxy 7 watch has the correct hardware for that.

Is there anything in the app marking datapoints/ coordinates every 15sec or something like that?

I’m attaching an image of my dogs Fi collar app view after a round. Kinda looking for the same thing but with frolf data where my disc lands, distance… I’m getting old and want to see if my accuracy and distance is maintaining

Hey @mountainblaster thanks for this feedback. We don’t have any immediate plans for adding these capabilities to the watches. However, you can always get a GPS track of your round as long as you enable it from your device. Additionally, you can track the locations of your throws and your stats from your device itself, but it isn’t yet possible to do on the watch.

We’re always looking for feedback though, and will continue taking these things into consideration as we plan improvements.
