I try to get out for fieldwork one or two times a week. I’ll pick a spot in a nearby field and throw most or all of my disks for an hour, maybe an hour and a half. I’m a beginner so my disks tend to fly off in many creative directions, and sometimes at my target. I use UDisc to measure the throws, setting the start point where I threw, and walking out into the field to collect all of my disks, recording each throw as I pickup the disk.
When I’m done I’ll go back and review my distances, and look a the map of the disk showing where it started, and where it landed.
I would really like the ability to display more than one throw on the same image. This way I could do some useful things like:
Look at all the throws for a specific disk during my practice session
Look at all the throws from one session, to see if I can spot some patterns or problems with my technique.
It would also be nice if I could drop a target marker onto the map to indicate what I was aiming at.
Thanks so much for your feedback here. We don’t have any near-term plans to update this aspect of the app, but will absolutely keep this feedback in mind.
When you say you’d like to record multiple throws for a specific disc - what do you imagine this looking like? I imagine you’ve used this before, but do you use the filters to review your throws by date and disc?
I appreciate you letting me know that there aren’t any near-term plans for this functionality, thank you.
When I say I’d like to review multiple throws for the same disk? What I do when I go out for fieldwork is throw all of my disks, and measure the throws as I pick them up. Then I’ll return to the start, throw all of my disks, measure them as I pick them up.
I may get 6 or 8 rounds of throws in before I call it a day. And I always return to the same starting point.
If I could open the app, and select all of the throws from my Innova IT, from that session and see the start and end for each throw all on the same image? I could learn things like… most of my shots went left of where I aimed, and I was probably gripping the disk too lightly. Or I could see if I’m landing my disks in a consistent spot that day.
That sort of information could be useful to me. Does my example help?
Thank you so much for providing additional context here. It is super helpful to know and understand exactly what would be helpful for you. As Jenn mentioned, we don’t have any near-term plans for this, but will definitely keep you posted if we can make these kinds of improvements in the future.
