Why does last years map keep showing with this years layout on a temp dgc that changes annually?
Hey Carl,
Sorry you’re running into this. Can you send along the course you’re referring to? Course Ambassadors take lead updating course mapping and associated layouts. If things haven’t been updated it’s possible the Course Ambassador just hasn’t gotten around to it just yet.
If you can send the course name, we can help you in getting it updated!
Hi Jenn,
I am a course ambassador for this annual temporary course at MacGreggor park in Dayton, Ohio. This course has had nine different layouts in the nine years we have set it up. My issue is that the “Main course” map can not be edited or changed and this causes confusion for many out of town participants.
The course has been taken down for 2024 and I hope this will not be an issue in 2025. Knowing about this issue and the difficulty surrounding it it, I will start attempting to correct it earlier.
Carl
Hey Carl,
It looks like maybe there has been some confusion about how updates should be made. The Main layout is definitely editable, but since it’s a Smart Layout, the map should be edited via the Map Manager.
I don’t know exactly why, but at this point it looks like all the elements were totally deleted from your Map Manager? That is definitely not the way we want to go about this, and changes like that won’t be able to be approved. Can I ask why you wanted to delete all of the tees and targets?
Each year, all the tees and targets can simply be repositioned to match the configuration for the year. Or, you can always start fresh by creating a new Classic Layout.
We have a lot of helpful information in these articles:
If you need some extra help in this process though, definitely reach out at help@udisc.com and we can give some extra assistance.
The main layout only permitts editing by moving tees/targets around. It doesn’t allow for editing from an 18 hole layout to a 20 or 24 hole layout. Editing the main layout by moving around tees and targets takes a lot of unnecessary work when a current layout map has already been created.
Next year the new latout and map will be completed with plenty of time to actually get Udisc to replace the old outdated “Main course” with the actual 2025 course
That definitely works. If you have a created Classic Layout, we can help import it for you. Or any mapping can be done on the Map Manager and any number of holes can be added, removed, or replaced there as well. Then creating any number of Smart Layouts is pretty simple from there. But just let us know how we can help when you’re ready to set up for next year.
It will be a smart layout again. Made all the old layouts inactive so people only used the new smart layouts for 2024. I will explore the map manager more next year and will seek assistance as needed.
Thank you for the replies
On a different issue, Monthly reports.
It would be extremely helpful if you included the average from the 122 ratings for Echo Valley under more course stats. Would be much easier to get parks services to take care of courses and show real time value to enter kept disc golf courses. Many courses around the country struggle to keep the municipal workers doing proper regular maintenance.

Hey Carl,
Great point! Our team did just make updates to the Statistics tab in Course Tools to include a graph that shows the ratings over the past year for each category on your course. If you pan over the data on the graph you’ll see the average listed by month. You can download the data and graph for this as well to share with city counterparts! We’ll consider adding this information to the Course Replay as well, but for now this is a great resource that you have access to all the time in your Course Tools.
Ho Jenn,
That appeared to be the overall rating average as is changes through time. I mean the average of just that month. That would show how course maintenance can directly affect the ratings in a snap shot.
I have previously had others do the Udisc course ambasador stuff so I could concentrate on course maintenance and new courses. I am recently getting involved in this end of dgc’s.
