I always carry my S22 Android phone in my pocket when playing. It used to track steps and distance traveled fairly accurately, but ever since a month or so ago, almost nothing is tracked. Maybe a few steps here and there.
I’ve checked that it has all proper permissions and map my rounds is always set.
I’d normally uninstall and reinstall as a troubleshooting step, but I want to make sure I don’t lose any round stats or discs I’ve saved. Is everything I’ve done saved in the cloud and it’s safe to uninstall / reinstall?
Thanks for reaching out, Ken! Yes, your performance data is saved to your account (on the cloud) so you can safely logout, uninstall and reinstall the app as troubleshooting steps. Any additional information or screenshots you could provide to illustrate what you’re experiencing may help with our team’s investigation and troubleshooting. We are working on some improvements for step counting accuracy on Android, and we appreciate you reaching out to report your experience. Do the floors climbed stats seem to be accurate?
Thanks, I uninstalled and reinstalled, but it still doesn’t seem to be tracking steps and distance like before. Checking in my round history, the issue started about 7weeks ago. Unless I’m missing something, I believe I’ve checked and enabled all necessary permissions. Map my round is always on. I always carry my phone in my left front pocket. The Samsung Health app detected thousands of steps yesterday when I played.
I’ve included a screenshot of when it was last working. Steps and distance are shown on the scorecard. Pretty much all rounds after that do not have steps or distance. There was one occasion last week where an activity round record just 5 steps. I’ve included that screenshot as well.
(EDIT: I am only able to include one image as a new user.)
Thank you very much Ken! Those must be some long strides to play an entire round in only five steps! In all seriousness though, our team is investigating this step-tracking issue and we will keep you in the loop on the fix when we have one in place!
I’m also experiencing this Android issue for a while now. Reinstall does not fix it. Recently got a different phone and still no steps/distance. I recently didn’t have my Garmin watch and wasn’t using it for scoring, and the steps showed up. Seems possible this is a Garmin Udisc app/Android Udisc issue. Will be testing this theory more.
Hey guys! Thanks so much for your patience. The steps issue on Android ended up needing a slightly larger change. We have been working on it and have some changes in beta right now. As soon as the updated version is available for download, I’ll be sure to add something to this thread.
