Is there a way to add a setting in preferences to allow the courses Closest to show vs Recommended. While I enjoy periodically seeing the recommended courses, I personally want to know what is nearby first. Every time I navigate to courses, I have to select that option in the drop-down. I’m sure some prefer it the way it is, but I know many folks that travel and play and enjoy hitting the nearest courses.

I agree, it would be very useful to have user customizable settings for the default view of the “Courses” tab!
Adding to the “recommended versus closest” user customizable setting that Jason requested, I think it would be great if we could also filter by “most played” or even a new “favorite” tag (like the “wishlist” tag) to quickly view our frequently played courses, and check course traffic and conditions before deciding where to go, as well as more quickly start a scorecard when we get there.
Personally, I usually have my location data turned off when I’m not using a navigation app, so my “Courses” tab default view is of beautiful courses in Minnesota that I will unfortunately probably never play 
. Being able to set this tab to default to “most played” or a new “favorite” tag would be extremely helpful to me, and I’m sure many others!

Thanks very much for your thoughtful feedback, Jason and Chris! This kind of customizable default sorting option is a neat idea for a new setting, and we will keep you posted on any developments in that regard.
On the web-based course directory (Disc Golf Courses | UDisc) you can drag and zoom the map, and apply filters to pare down your search results. The webpage URL is unique depending on the map location and filters, so if you have a preferred view then you can save that unique URL to easily return to the same combination of course directory filters and map settings.

Total agree i have a course that is not far from my house but the app shows me the Recommended course which is quite some distance away.
