I know this has been asked before but I can’t seem to find my answer. I’m looking to exclude a week of our league in the standings. I opened my mouth and told the group this round would not count toward standings for a few reasons. Different layout and putter only as well as a lot of the leaders being at Ledgestone. I thought if I turned off statistics it wouldn’t include that round but noticed today I was wrong. Can you manually remove it for me? Or maybe give me a walkthrough on how to proceed? Please and thank you.
Thanks for reaching out, Matt! We don’t exactly have a way to retroactively exclude specific rounds from league standings after the event has been played. This is on our radar as a potential future improvement to league standings controls.
You could shift your league standings dates as one option, although I realize this isn’t an ideal solution when the round that needs to be excluded occurs during the midst of the league season. For future reference, a teams format event (like doubles) would be excluded automatically from league standings. So that would be a good workaround, as you could even manually override the team sizes to play “teams” format with teams of one player each. Unfortunately you can’t change the play format to teams after the round has been played, and re-creating the event from scratch as a teams event is admittedly somewhat tedious. But if you’d want to do that anyhow, then the walkthrough would entail these steps: create a new teams event, add the participants and configure them all to be on teams of one play per team, then publish card groupings and manually enter their scores via the “Adjust scores and penalties” functionality via the admin leaderboard page. If you decide to go that route, then please let me know and I can help to clear the Singles version of the event after you’ve set up the players and scores into the Teams copy.
Awesome stuff, I assume if I do that I can just then delete the event and the standings for that week would disappear or should I contact you after completion of that process? I will get this set up ASAP. Thank you for the great help. Once again!
You’re very welcome Matt! It’s a bit more involved of a process to delete a completed event with scores on the leaderboard (to prevent leagues from accidentally deleting events), so definitely feel free to reach back out for help with that.
I’m also confident you could handle it all yourself, so here’s a step-by-step for reference: first remove all hole scores from the event to be deleted via the “Adjust scores and penalties” functionality, then remove all participants from the event. Finally you should be able to delete it. I hope this helps!
